InterTone release notes

Every InterTone version, newest first.

0.9.8

17 October 2026

A pre-EQ: a four-node parametric EQ ahead of the matching. Shape the voice first, then let InterTone hold it to the target.

  • MATCH / PRE-EQ at the top of the display chooses what you edit. Nodes 1 and 4 can be shelves or bells; nodes 2 and 3 are bells, each ±18 dB.
  • The matching hears the pre-EQ and leaves half of it alone, so a pre-EQ move stays in part even at a high Amount.
  • Double-click a region handle to reset it; shift-click switches it on or off. A double-click used to switch it.
  • Older sessions open with the pre-EQ flat and sound exactly as before.

0.9.7

16 October 2026

Two preset fixes. No preset can quietly replace another any more.

  • Names that differ only in characters a file name cannot hold, such as Lead a/b and Lead a:b, now save as two presets instead of one replacing the other.
  • The star after a changed preset's name appears as soon as you change something, and clears when you save.

0.9.6

16 October 2026

InterTone now comes as an Audio Unit as well, so Logic Pro can see it. Nothing about the sound changed.

  • Your host treats the Audio Unit as a different plug-in from the VST3, so a project moved across needs setting up again. Presets carry over.
  • Installing by hand: a symlinked Audio Unit is never found, so copy the bundle.

0.9.5

16 October 2026

A processing range: tell InterTone where to work, and it leaves the rest alone.

  • Drag the two tabs at the foot of the display inward. Outside the range the sound is untouched, and the correction fades out over a third of an octave past each edge.
  • LEARN and saved targets still keep the whole curve, so widening the range later needs nothing relearned.
  • Sessions from 0.9.4 and earlier open with the range off, so they sound as they did.

0.9.4

16 October 2026

The regions reach further. Boosting or cutting LOW, BODY, PRESENCE or AIR now does what the handle says, without the rest of the sound moving the other way.

  • The regions go to ±18 dB, up from ±12.
  • Auto gain is gone. Use OUTPUT to set the level; a session saved with auto gain on can now play at a different level.
