0.4.5
The first release of InterSilica. Shave the harshness. Seal the ceiling.
- Three stages in series, each with its own ACTIVE switch: SMOOTHER takes the harshness out of a source, WIDTH sets the stereo width with one knob, and LIMITER holds the output under a ceiling. A stage that is off costs no CPU.
- Zero latency with the default settings, and that is what the host is told. LIMITER's LOOKAHEAD, which you have to turn on, adds 1.5 ms and reports it to the host. TRUE PEAK turns LOOKAHEAD on.
- SMOOTHER finds the frequencies that stand out above the music's own level, moment to moment, and turns down only those, by up to 20 dB each. DEPTH, DETAIL, ATTACK, RELEASE, six nodes and DELTA to hear what it takes.
- WIDTH: one knob from mono to wide, with AUTO, STEREO or MONO, and on a mono source it builds a stereo image. Nothing is lost in a mono fold-down, and what it adds stays out of the bass below 120 Hz.
- LIMITER: THRESHOLD and CEILING from −30 to 0 dB with a lock between them, and automatic release. At zero latency a short gain dip catches the peaks, so nothing is clipped. Its gain reduction also shows in the host's meters.
- Mono, stereo, and mono in to stereo out.
- It works fully for 14 days from the first time it runs on a computer, with no key. After that its output is silent until a licence key is activated. A key works on two computers, and a Suite key covers InterSilica as well.
- Activate before a show, not during one: when the trial ends the output goes silent at that moment, even in a running session. Install one copy only; the footer shows which version loaded.
